What it does:  Recovers photos you have erased or lost by formatting your memory card or your computer's hard drive, or if the drive is corrupted.

I think there are a lot of people who might like to use software programs for various tasks, but they are not comfortable enough with finding and installing software to even be able to take advantage of the many free software trials available on the Internet.   That is why I am putting together this web site.  It's for those of us who don't even know what questions to ask.

I'm going to show you what the software looks like as I try it out myself.  This will NOT be a list of features compared with lists of features of other programs.  Lots of other web sites will show you that if you are interested.  But since you and I are beginners and just exploring this software, we won't yet know what those features are for or if we even care about them.  So pull up a chair and watch as I explore this software for the first time.

Let's see if I can recover some photos I deleted  (I actually formatted the memory card) from my Canon camera.

Well, let's get started exploring Hetman Photo Recovery software.

I have already installed the program so once I start it this is the first screen I see.

This screen shows all the places where data, including photos, can be stored on MY computer.  Your screen may show only 1 or 2 disks.

I had plugged in the memory card from my Canon camera and it showed up as a "Removable Disk", even though it's just a memory card. This is normal.

I could have alternatively plugged a cable into the camera and it would show up the same way.

I left the default selection of "Normal scan" and clicked, "Next"

I took the default, "All files" and left the 2 check marks in place and clicked, "Next"

Well, that's disappointing.

I clicked the "Help" button which suggested doing a "deep analysis" which was one of the other choices I saw on a previous screen.

I clicked "Back" and selected the "Deep Analysis" button and clicked, "Next".

With "Deep analysis you get lots of choices, but I again just took the defaults and clicked, "Next"

Ah hah! It found 38 photos on a memory card that was completely empty.  The card had been FORMATTED a couple of times before running this software.  Now that's cool!

I selected one photo, #33 and clicked "Next"

The Hetman Photo Recovery web site says they will guarantee that you can recover any photo that their software will display.

That means if you want to recover any of these photos you have to click the "Registration" button and actually buy the software.

It also means there is no risk that the program won't do what you want it to do.

After buying you have these screens which will save the recovered photos wherever you choose.

When you click the "Registration" button you get this screen which will take you to their shopping cart for payment.

After paying you will receive  a Registration key which you input on this screen.

That will make the program fully functional and you WILL get your photos back.

If, after looking over my shoulder at Hetman Photo Recovery software, you think you want to try it yourself but don't know how to install software, CLICK THIS to see the steps I took to install it on my computer.  It's quite easy, and the screen shots will make it even easier.  "Installing" software sounds like you have to open your computer and "install" something into it, but it really is nothing more than clicking on a button that say's, "Install" and then answering a few questions that can almost always be answered with the default choice.  You'll see the whole short process at the link above.  But don't bother unless you want to try Hetman Photo Recovery. And even then, the install is so easy you may not want to even bother looking at my install screen shots.
