Let's take a peek at My Memories Suite scrap book
Now under $40

You can CLICK THIS if you want to go directly to the My Memories Suite web site to check prices or download the software.

What it does:  It lets you put together a beautiful scrap book without ever once having to go to your Michael's store to buy background paper, stickers, photo holders, fancy pens, inks, tape, oval cutting tools, etc.  It lets you print your creation or share it over the Internet.  It lets you correct mistakes or add chapters without having to throw away anything.

I think there are a lot of people who might like to use software programs for various tasks, but they are not comfortable enough with finding and installing software to even be able to take advantage of the many free software trials available on the Internet.   That is why I am putting together this web site.  It's for those of us who don't even know what questions to ask.

I'm going to show you what the software looks like as I try it out myself.  This will NOT be a list of features compared with lists of features of other programs.  Lots of other web sites will show you that if you are interested.  But since you and I are beginners and just exploring this software, we won't yet know what those features are for or if we even care about them.

Well, let's get started exploring My Memories scrap book software.

I have already installed the program so once I start the program this is the first screen I see.

We get to choose if we want to use one of the many pre-designed scrap books that come with the program and just add our photos and text and stickers, etc., or do we want to start from scratch and make our own.

It looks like the 3rd option is to go online and get even more pre-designed pages if we want.

This is an ad for the software I'm exploring on this web page.

My Memories Suite Version 2 Digital Scrapbooking Software Includes 1500 Papers

I'm going to take the first option and pick a pre-designed page they call a "template".

The template I picked is "A Day  in the Life".

It is now showing me all the different styles and layouts of pages within the theme of A Day in the Life.

So it looks like I can have lots of pages all with the same look and feel because of the same colors and graphics even though each page can be different.  Pretty cool!

This is where we add our photos to the album.  It looks like we can add them one at a time either as we build our pages or add them all at once.

If you had lots of pics and didn't care just which page they ended up on (initially anyway) you could put them all in a single folder on your hard drive and My Memories would grab them all at once.

I decided to add one picture and this is what my screen looks like in preparation to add it.

You can see I am working on the first page of this multi-page template.

At the bottom of the screen it says, "Background music shown here".  I have no idea what that is!  How do you "see" music anyway?

To add my granddaughter's picture to this scrap book page I have to click the menu item on the right that says, "Photos" .

Look how the menu choices change once I click "Photos"

I click "Add"

When I clicked "Add" My Memories presented me this screen which shows the photos on my hard drive.  I simply clicked the one I want and clicked "OK"

Now it's really fun!  I have inserted Morgan's picture into the scrap book.

I just have to now slide her around to where I think she will look best in this template.

But look on the right at all the stuff I can do with this photo!  AMAZING!

Just like I clicked "Photos" to add a picture, I clicked "Embellishments" to fancy up this page.

Look at the list of categories on the left of things that are built in that can be added with a click.  Hah! No more trips to Michael's for stickers!!

It looks like there are thousands of other embellishments available online as well.

And there's the purple flower I added.

And when I clicked on the Word Art Designer button I was able to change the text of the template from "A Day in the Life" to "Happy Birthday Morgan!"

And there's my first scrap book page built from a template.  I could have changed every single part of it if I wanted.

It looks like lots of free templates come with the program and you can also buy special templates for a few dollars if you want.

Now let's go back and build our album from scratch instead of using a template.

Select, "Design Your Own"

Notice the first page I made is shown at the bottom?

When you start from scratch you have to even tell it what size and shape your paper is.

This is where we decide how we want the photos laid out on the page.

I think we will add backgrounds and colors and text later.

So, just like we did with the template, I clicked "Photos" then "Add" and my pictures magically place themselves in the frames.

I think that's kinda neat how the pictures overlap and are placed at a fun angle.

This is where we apply a background.  See the choices on the right side?

Clicking on the Color button gives you over 16 million solid colors to choose from.

But a solid color is just too plain for Morgan, so I picked the background paper option.

Again, there is a big list of choices.

Hey!  The background paper even matches her dress!

This screen shot gives you some idea of the variety of templates available and what they cost.

Click the picture to see all of them.

So there we have it.  We made 2 scrap book pages - one from a template and one from scratch.

We added photos, changed text, even added a purple flower!

Let's see what we can do with this masterpiece 2 page album.

I clicked the "Share Album" button and got these choices.

Video?  Gonna be a short movie with just 2 pages!

Well, I'm impressed.

While I didn't do anything real exotic, I was able to do everything I wanted without ever once checking the help screen.

And remember, I have never made a scrapbook before or even seen this software before.

The software never hung or crashed and the install went without a hitch.

I think it sells for less than $40.  You will have to check the ads to see if they are having a sale, but even at $40 this looks like a lot of software to me.

If, after looking over my shoulder at My Memories Suite software, you think you want to try it yourself but don't know how to install software, CLICK THIS to see the steps I took to install it on my computer.  It's quite easy, and the screen shots will make it even easier.  "Installing" software sounds like you have to open your computer and "install" something into it, but it really is nothing more than clicking on a button that say's, "Install" and then answering a few questions that can almost always be answered with the default choice.  You'll see the whole short process at the link above.  But don't bother unless you want to try My Memories. And even then, the install is so easy you may not want to even bother looking at my screen shots.
